The short version
Privacy
No ads. No selling your data. Privacy-friendly analytics so we can see which waters are useful, and your email only if you hand it to us.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages anglers find helpful — for example, which water pages get read and which ones lead to a newsletter signup. GA4 is configured for analytics only: advertising features, ad personalization and data-sharing for ads are turned off, and IP addresses are anonymized. We don't try to identify you personally.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking analytics in your browser.
Your email
If you subscribe to The Weekly Lowdown, we use your email address only to send you that newsletter. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you anytime at info@greatbasinflyfisher.com.
When you subscribe, we also note an approximate region — for example your state — so we understand where our readers fish and can describe our audience to partners in aggregate. You can choose your region yourself on the signup form, or leave it blank and we'll estimate it once from your IP address using a geolocation service. We store only the region label (like "Nevada"), never your IP address, and we never share it in a way that identifies you.
Your choices
If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to ask us to delete it. Since we don't sell personal information, there's nothing to opt out of on that front — but you can always reach us at info@greatbasinflyfisher.com with any request or question.
